We are so excited to welcome another pattern to the collection! This pattern was designed and generously donated by Sue Lazenby.
“Branwen (pronounced BRAN oo wen) means ‘White Raven’ and is also interpreted as ‘Blessed Raven’. As a Raven Goddess, she is one of the Celtic battle goddesses (‘Morigan’) and possesses great strength of
character. Taking inspiration from the shape of spear heads and axes, entwined Celtic patterns as well as the shape of raven’s wings, I’ve designed this sideways knit triangular shawl. The cabled panel along the lower edge compliments the diamond patterned lace and the shawl is suitable for an intermediate knitter.”
What you need to get started:
- Fingering weight yarn, 420 yd / 384 m per 100 g. Preferably all wool or a wool blend. Approximately 730 yd / 668 m.
- Needles: 1 x 32 ” / 80 cm circular
- US # 6 / 4.0 mm or size to achieve desired gauge. Needle size is a recommendation only.
- Cable needle; 3 stitch markers; blocking wires & pins.
