Sorry folks, there was meant to be an interview here from a former MSF field person. However, life has been a bit busy of late, so it’s been shuffled along the timeline. Seriously, I think small people are time bandits.
Looking back on March, lots went on for P/HOP too. Here are some of the highlights and sneak peeks at what’s coming up.
A visit to Edinburgh Yarn Festival
The smallest volunteer and I made social trip up to EYF to meet with friends from real and online life. We had such a great time from the really friendly knit night on the Thursday to the brunch on Sunday morning.
On the Friday afternoon, I had a chat with Nadia, from The Cottage Notebook podcast, about p/hop which will be released on April 21st. For those of you who prefer a blog format over a podcast she will also have something up on The Cottage Notebook blog as well.
We’re very thankful to Jo & Mica for genorously setting out our flyers at the information tables for the weekend. Hopefully lots of people picked one or two up to share with their friends and local knit groups. Also while we were there, a new knit sample was collected and the pattern should be ready for release before Woolfest this year! It’s so lovely, you need to have a sneak peek.
Speaking of samples, the wonderful Jaqui aka Tiggerbeeuk made up and sent out an event friendly version of our Retro Buggy Blanket. Isn’t it lovely! After seeing it made up, the pattern looks like a great stash busting project for either the DK weight called for in the pattern or even a heavier weight yarn.
There was a competition over on our Instagram account to spread the p/hop love. The prize? A pair of golden Cranford Mitts! The winner was @the.dkc and the runner up @bumflapassasin won a Teeny Tiny Ted.
If you missed out, don’t worry. There are a few more planned now that I’ve got the hang of it. The prize this month is a project bag and some lovely yarn. Keep an eye out on our Instagram & Facebook account for more details.
We’re nearly at the 64,500 mark! Well done and thanks a mil folks!
A special massive THANK YOU needs to go out to the organisers and participants of SkipNorth. They raised over £200 with their swap held during the weekend. All the kind sentiments and thanks over on our JustGiving page are amazing.
If you are holding or found out about us from an event, please do pop a note in the message section of JustGiving. Then we can see what events are going, thank the organisers and possibly support them in their endeavours next time. Your donation still remains anonymous if that is what you chose.
Before you go, we’re still looking for crochet patterns. So if you have one or know someone who might, don’t be shy, drop me a mail p-hop at london.msf.org.
Finally, monthly post is moving to Friday so you can start your weekend off with something to read either at lunch or at your leisure over the weekend. Thanks for stopping by to have a read and a catchup. I hope you had a lovely weekend and all your WIPs behaved themselves.
