Inspired knitting 1

The interweb is a wonderful thing.  Ravelry has brought together knitters from all over the world and inspired us to knit things we would never have dreamed we were capable of creating.

One source of inspiration is Jane Thornley (color4texture). Jane is a Canadian who has spread her love of free-ranging with colour and texture in knitting throughout the world. This week she was at Skeins, in Glossop, England and knitters from across the UK came to sit at her feet. Jane’s Inspired Knitters are skilled at using small quantities of yarn creatively, so this seemed a good opportunity, in p/hop’s birthday week, to have a p/hop event.

Everyone was invited to destash and many did – yarn and books were piled on the table.

People took what they thought they could use and donated over £170 to p/hop.

So lets celebrate the interweb, which has enabled p/hop to raise over £20,000 in the first two years. Happy Birthday p/hop.

Thank you Beanz52 and everyone who took part in the yarn swap event.

We’ve extended the blog-a-long to the end of next week (Friday 12th November). If you would like to join in (the more the merrier) details of how to take part are here.

You can get all the blog-a-long updates by following p/hop on twitter and in the p/hop Ravelry group.
