Happy Birthday p/hop! by Mostcurious
I’m going to come right out and tell you I’m a p/hop newbie. If it weren’t for the fact that I know Clare from another Ravelry group, I might still not know about p/hop. This is likely because I am an American (you can call me a Yankee if you like). Once I got to understand what p/hop was about, I was hooked. No one loses with p/hop. The patterns are interesting, and my money goes to one of my very favorite charities of all time and having the donations based on the honor system encourages me to trust people a little more.
I want to say something about the work that MSF does, but I’m not sure what I can say other than it is awesome work, and I want to keep the medical staff out in the field doing what they do for people in very bad situations day after day. As long as I can, I will be p/hopping and supporting MSF. In honor of p/hop’s first birthday, I have cast on my first p/hop project ever: Socks for Little Witches. My daughter is going to love them (you can see the yarn she picked …
). Right after I printed out the pattern I donated to p/hop, and I think when I’ve finished these, I’m coming back to try the Chevron de Paix Socks for me. I also want to do my part to get the word out about p/hop here in the US, so that we can hopefully do as much good as you UK folks have done already in just one year. Everybody p/hop! It’s the simplest way to support MSF there is.
Many happy returns, p/hop, and may this be the first in a long run of birthdays for you!
